Strategic objectives of the five-year plan: qualitative improvement of road infrastructure, development of fast and accessible regional communications

Wednesday, 18 February 2026

To create fast and comfortable transport links between the capital and its satellite towns, scheduled major repairs and reconstruction of national highways are planned. Sections of the R-28 Minsk-Molodechno, M-6 Minsk-Grodno, and R-1 Minsk-Dzerzhinsk highways are slated for renovation in the near future.

A special priority is to ensure that 100% of the shortest routes from district centers to agricultural towns will be provided with improved surfaces by the end of 2026.

The passenger transport system will continue to be improved. It is planned that:

  • For 80% of Minsk-city-satellite routes, travel time should be no more than 30 minutes.
  • For 60% of routes within a 100-kilometer radius of regional centers, travel time should not exceed 90 minutes

These goals are planned to be achieved through the implementation of the activities of the state programs "Transport of Belarus" and "Roads of Belarus".
