Approximately 19 billion rubles are earmarked for funding the "Roads of Belarus" state program through 2030. At least 25,000 kilometers of roads will be repaired and reconstructed, which is almost 1.5 times more than completed in the previous five-year period.
Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of Highways of the Ministry of Transport Sergei Leonchik:
"This is a very good key to the future, aimed at updating and modernizing the country's public road network."
Significant projects include the reconstruction of exits from Minsk within the Second Ring Road. Reconstruction of the M3 Minsk-Vitebsk highway will also continue.
Much attention will be paid to the condition of bridge structures. There are more than 5,000 bridges and overpasses in the country: 2,300 are located on the national network, and almost 3,000 on the local network. Around 500 of these are scheduled for renovation.
In addition, road surfaces are currently being prepared for spring and summer use: road markings are being applied, surface defects are being repaired, and flood conditions are being monitored.
Road maintenance organizations are prepared to perform the entire range of work 24/7 to ensure the safe movement of trucks and passenger vehicles.
