The M-3 highway connects the capital with the northern region of the country and runs in the direction of Russian ports.
The most active work is currently on the section of the M-3 road from Pleshchenitsy to the border of Vitebsk region.
Dmitry Rusetsky, Head of the Department of Contracting Work and Technical Supervision of “Minskavtodor-Center”:
"The reconstruction of the section includes upgrading it to the first technical category (construction of four traffic lanes, two lanes in each direction), construction of two underground pedestrian crossings, construction of a transport interchange with an overpass, and two single-span bridges, which will also be used as biocrossings for wild animals."
Another facility. A new automobile bridge across the Pripyat River will connect the two banks and two districts of Brest region: Luninets and Stolin. The bridge is scheduled to open in 2027.
The five-year state program "Roads of Belarus" is a clearly defined infrastructure development plan. This includes the repair and reconstruction of 25,000 km of public roads and approximately 500 bridges. These figures are 1.4 times higher than those of the previous five-year plan.
