The issuance of special permits for large and heavy vehicles will be harmonized in the EAEU

The document sets out general recommendations for all member states regarding the issuance and validity periods of special permits, application forms, and the single issuing authority in each state.
If route approval is not required, special permits are issued within 24 business hours of the application being submitted; if required, within 10 business days. In emergency situations, the issuance period is within 3 hours.
The validity period of the special permit must not exceed 135 calendar days; the application must be submitted no earlier than 45 calendar days before the planned start date of the international road transport.
"Implementing these recommendations will simplify the process of obtaining special permits for carriers, reduce costs associated with transport, logistics, and control and oversight procedures, and eliminate the restriction included in the register of obstacles in the EAEU's internal market," the EEC commented.
