The President of Belarus signed the Law "On Amendments to Laws on Railway Transport"

The document was signed to create a modern legal framework and provide the economy and population with high-quality, safe, and reliable rail transport services. It defines common approaches to the rights and responsibilities of both the infrastructure owner (public railway transport organizations) and the owners of non-public railway tracks (other organizations whose operations involve train traffic and shunting operations).
The law establishes the obligation of railway owners to keep records, investigate, and inform the authorized body of any violations of the safety of movement and operation of railway transport.
The range of persons required to undergo mandatory medical examinations, medical re-examinations, pre-trip or pre-shift medical examinations or assessments is being expanded.
Furthermore, certain types of passenger service, including interregional and regional services, are being clarified, and a new type of train—high-speed economy trains on regional lines—is being introduced. The functions of the Belarusian Railway's Paramilitary Security Service are to be transferred to the Security Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
