The Ministry of Transport has joined the forest restoration initiative "Give the Forest a New Life!"

Sunday, 19 October 2025

Today, employees of the central office of the Ministry of Transport, led by Deputy Minister Sergey Matsukov, made their contribution to the restoration of forest areas of Belarus - they planted coniferous tree saplings on the territory of Logoisk forestry. Representatives of the Department of Aviation and Road Organization Minskavtodor-Center participated in the planting of young spruces and pines in  Minsk region.

Traditionally, the Ministry of Transport and Communications actively participates in voluntary reforestation initiatives, including in areas affected by natural disasters. In 2025, the "Give the Forest a New Life!" campaign is dedicated to the Year of Improvement.

Deputy Minister Sergei Matsukov emphasized the importance of every citizen of our country participating in such events: "The forest is our wealth and a valuable resource. Caring for the environment and the well-being of the nation is part of the civic responsibility of Belarusians."

Young trees were planted on the site by representatives of the transport industry using an 8 x 2 mixing pattern (8 spruces, 2 pines). The complexity of the work on this site was due to the need to use a Kolesov shovel—a narrow steel shovel for planting forest seedlings, widely used in domestic silvicultural practices. Andrey Sanko, Director of Logoisk Forestry, assisted in mastering the tool.

In total, approximately 25-30 hectares of forest are planned to be created within Logoisk forestry during the campaign this autumn, and the total number of participants is expected to reach 1,500 people.
