If the construction pace continues, bridge builders plan to complete the work this summer and open the bridge to traffic in September.
Reconstruction of the bridge approaching Vileika on the R-28 Minsk-Molodechno-Naroch highway began in March 2025. A 790-meter section of the road will also be upgraded.
The bridge will be 181.6 meters long, with an 8-meter-wide roadway and 0.5-meter-wide safety lanes. Pedestrian paths will be installed on both sides of the bridge, and a 2.5-meter-long bike path will be built on the right side next to the sidewalk. The bridge deck is currently being installed, waterproofing, leveling and installation of fencing are next.
The bridge across the Viliya River was built in 1959, making it nearly 70. In 2023, it was included in the list of road facilities requiring urgent repairs and in the state program "Roads of Belarus" for 2026-2030.
